Why this career matters
Atlanta has become one of the biggest film production hubs in the country. Trilith Studios (Marvel, DC), Tyler Perry Studios, and dozens of productions shoot nearby. Editors are in demand, and the skills translate to any content medium: film, TV, YouTube, corporate, social media.
What you actually do
A day in the life
Morning: review yesterday's footage from the set: 6 hours of raw material that needs to become a 4-minute scene. Select the best performances, tightest angles. Midday: director review. Walk through your rough cut, take notes on pacing changes. Afternoon: fine-cut work. Frame-by-frame adjustments, temp music, smoother transitions. The edit room is where the film is actually made.
