This page describes what Observe actually does today, not what we intend to do. Where a protection does not exist yet, it says so.

What we check about hosts

Observe does not run identity checks, background checks, or credential verification on hosts, and does not inspect workplaces. Please do not treat a listing as vetted.

What we do know: a host has claimed a specific business listing using a private link we sent to that business, and confirmed a working email address. Most listings on Observe are unclaimed placeholders for real Atlanta businesses and are clearly marked as such.

Decide about a visit the way you would decide about any workplace your child has not been to before. Look the business up, and contact them directly if you want to.

Students under 18

You must be at least 13 to create an account. Students under 18 cannot book a visit without giving us the name and email of the parent or guardian who agreed to it, and we record that with the booking.

Every experience carries our code of conduct. Visits happen at the host's premises under the host's own insurance; Observe does not provide insurance.

Data Protection

All data is encrypted in transit (TLS/SSL) and at rest. Passwords are hashed using bcrypt. We never store payment information directly — all payments are processed through Stripe.

Report a Concern

Tell us straight away, and tell us even if you are not sure. If someone is in immediate danger, call 911 first.
